<p>Michael A. Bowman is the managing partner of Bowman &amp; Partners, LLP.  Prior to forming Bowman &amp; Partners, he was a principal in another law firm, as well as senior litigation counsel for a boutique bankruptcy and commercial litigation law firm located in Philadelphia, PA.  Mr. Bowman has also worked for several prominent Philadelphia law firms in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Mr. Bowman&#8217;s practice consists primarily of complex commercial litigation, labor and employment litigation, and public finance.</p>
<p>He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Law, where he was an Advanced Opportunity Legal Fellow.</p>
<p>While at Wisconsin, Mr. Bowman also received a Master&#8217;s Degree in Public Affairs and Administration from the Lafollette Institute of Public Affairs. Mr. Bowman received his B.S. in Applied History from Carnegie Mellon University.</p>

<p>Albert Mezzaroba is of counsel to the law firm of Bowman &amp; Partners, LLP. Al recently completed a five year tenure as President &amp; CEO of the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority (“PCCA”). Previously, Mr. Mezzaroba served as Chief Legal Counsel for Anna Verna, President of the City Council of Philadelphia. Mr. Mezzaroba has substantial experience in real estate development matters, overseeing the $700 million PCCA expansion. As PCCA President and CEO, Mr. Mezzaroba managed the negotiation of all real estate transactional issues related to the PCCA expansion.</p>
<p>During his three years on Ms. Verna’s staff, Mr. Mezzaroba was involved in all of the legislative and political affairs of the city, working with the mayoral administrations of The Honorable John Street and former Mayor, now Pennsylvania Governor, Edward G. <p>Charles M. Gibbs is a Litigation and Government Relations Associate with Bowman Kavulich, Ltd. A 2010 cum laude Graduate of the Widener University School of Law, Mr. Gibbs served in numerous leadership roles including Vice President of Interscholastic Competitions for the Moot Court Honor Society, Evening Division Liaison for the Student Bar Association, and President of the Black Law Students Association. In addition, Mr. Gibbs’ written and oral advocacy skills were noted as he was inducted in the National Order of the Barristers.</p>
<p>During law school, Mr. Gibbs served as a Judicial Tipstaff to the Honorable Karen Y. Simmons in the Philadelphia Municipal Court. In this role, Mr. Gibbs was involved in numerous court innovation projects and was primarily responsible for the chamber’s legal correspondence. Prior to working for Judge Simmons, Mr. Gibbs served as a Special Assistant in a Philadelphia Mayoral Administration.</p>
<p>Mr. Gibbs is very active in the community, having served in numerous community leadership roles. He was recognized in 2000 as the City’s Youngest Block Captain and by the Philadelphia Tribune Magazine as one of the Top 10 People to Watch Under 40 in 2005. In addition, Mr. Gibbs has served on numerous boards and currently is a Member of the Project Home Young Friends Committee as well as the Board of Trustees for the Philadelphia Electrical and Technology Charter High School. Additionally, Mr. Gibbs has served as a staffer, advisor, and campaign manager on numerous local and state campaigns nationwide. Drawing on his myriad experience and relationships, Mr. Gibbs is able to help clients navigate complicated governmental systems effectively and efficiently. <p>Crystal M. Lacey is an Associate with Bowman &amp; Partners, LLP.  Ms. Lacey is a 2009 graduate of Widener University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Lacey continued to work full-time as a Senior Technical Services Engineer in the filtration industry.  She also managed to participate in Widener University&#8217;s Civil Law Clinic, where she assisted clients who could not afford to pay for legal services in bankruptcy matters.</p>

<p>Nina E. Miles Lane, is <strong><em>Executive Practice Assistant</em></strong> with Bowman &amp; Partners, LLP.  Mrs. Lane operates as both Office Manager and Paralegal at B&amp;P.  Prior to joining B&amp;P.,Mrs. Lane enjoyed both Executive Administrative and Paralegal positions with several prestigious law firms, Fortune 500 and Non-Profit organizations.  Mrs. Lane has been sought out by both peers and management to develop employment policies and procedures, for peer training in standard operating procedures, to assist with development of corporate governance education materials and presentations, and for consultation on developing strategies to encourage diversity, promote group morale and achieve customer service goals.</p>
<p>Mrs. Lane is a magna cum laude graduate of Eastern University’s Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies, with an undergraduate degree in Organizational Management and is currently pursuing the M.S. in Non-Profit Management.  Mrs. Lane received, along with her co-authors, the Distinguished Applied Research Project award for her undergrad thesis, “<em>Faith and the workplace: the corporate climate in America would benefit from embracing the marriage of the two</em>”, which explored the benefits and cautions in implementing religious accommodation in the workplace.  Mrs. Lane is also a summa cum laude graduate of the Community College of Philadelphia with an A.A.S. degree in Paralegal Studies.  While at Community College of Philadelphia, Mrs. Lane served as Vice President of the Paralegal Student Association, Recording Secretary for Student Government and as a paid Peer Tutor in the college’s learning lab for English 101, Introduction to Paralegal Studies and Psychology 101 courses, being specifically assigned to English as Second Language students by the head of the Psychology Department.  Mrs. Lane was entrusted to serve as keynote speaker on behalf of the Alumni Association at the 1999 Commencement service and remains an active participant in alumni network events in collaboration with the Community College of Philadelphia Fox Rothschild Center for Law and Society.</p>
<p>Mrs. Lane is active in the community, and voluntarily serves as a founding member of the Funds Development Committee of a local educational 501(c)(3) organization, as well as in the leadership group of a local faith-based ministry serving the South Philadelphia community.</p>

<p>Billy Smith is a Senior Member of Bowman &amp; Partners, LLP, where he focuses on white-collar criminal defense, general criminal defense, regulatory matters, complex commercial litigation, internal investigations, civil and criminal forfeiture proceedings, as well as appellate litigation. Mr. Smith has extensive experience assisting clients with all phases of investigation and litigation ­ including grand jury proceedings, subpoena compliance, motion practice, plea negotiations, trials as well as sentencing.  His recent activities include conducting internal investigations on behalf of corporations, advising corporations and educational institutions on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other compliance matters, as well as the representation of individuals investigated in relation to or charged with violation of state and federal criminal statutes.</p>

<p>Mr. Smith&#8217;s civil litigation experience includes securities and derivative actions, contests regarding corporate control, disputes regarding sales of interests in business entities, as well as claims for fraud and breach of contract.</p>

<p>Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Smith served the citizens of Philadelphia County as an Assistant District Attorney. He concluded his service to Philadelphia as a member of the Special Narcotics Prosecution Unit where he successfully prosecuted individuals accused of a myriad of felony offenses, including complex narcotics distribution conspiracy and weapons offenses.  In this capacity, Mr. Smith also worked with various federal agencies in their investigation of both subjects and targets of grand jury investigations.</p>
